Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Artisan The Goat ("We," "Us," or "Our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website at artisanthegoat.com (the "Site"), purchase our products, contact us, or otherwise interact with our small family business.

We are a family-owned skincare, body care, soap, lip balm, and candle company operating from our Washington State farm. We take your privacy seriously and aim to be clear and direct about what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

If you are a Washington State resident, please also see our Consumer Health Data Notice for additional information about how we handle health-related data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you place an order, create an account, sign up for our newsletter, contact us, or enter a giveaway, we may collect contact information such as your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. We may also collect order information including the items you purchase, your shipping and billing addresses, and your order history. Payment information including payment card details and billing information is processed and stored by our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card number. If you create an account, we collect account information such as your username, password, and account preferences. We also collect the content of your customer service communications, including emails, messages, social media DMs, contact form submissions, and reviews. We collect your marketing preferences, including the topics, channels, and frequency you have requested. Finally, when you participate in a survey, giveaway, or promotion, we may collect any information you choose to share with us as part of your entry.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect device and browser information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and screen size. We also collect usage information such as pages viewed, time spent on the Site, items clicked, search terms, and the referring website. In addition, we collect cookie data, which is information stored in cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6 below).

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third parties. This includes information from our service providers, such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment processors, our shipping carriers, our analytics providers (such as Google Analytics 4), and our email and SMS marketing platforms. It also includes information from social media platforms when you interact with our content or click on our ads on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, or LinkedIn. We also receive information from talent and modeling agencies when you appear as a model in our brand content, subject to separate releases.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and to respond to your customer service inquiries and recommend Artisan products that may suit your concerns. We use it to send you newsletters, promotions, and marketing messages you have requested, which you may opt out of at any time. We also use information to operate, secure, improve, and personalize the Site; to detect, prevent, and address fraud, unauthorized activity, or security incidents; and to comply with our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government authorities. We use information to exercise and defend our legal rights, to run, evaluate, and improve giveaways, surveys, and promotions, and to support our farmers market, wholesale, and event activities.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below.

We share information with service providers and processors — companies that perform services on our behalf, including Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, email and SMS marketing platforms, customer support tools, analytics providers, and IT and security service providers. These companies are contractually bound to use your information only to provide services to us.

We also share information with social media platforms and advertising partners. When you interact with our content on third-party platforms, those platforms may collect information directly from you under their own privacy policies. We may also use limited information (such as a hashed email address) to deliver advertising on platforms like TikTok, Meta (Instagram and Facebook), YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Some of this sharing may be considered "sharing" or "selling" for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain state privacy laws. See Section 5 for your rights.

Where models appear in our brand content, we may share images and content with the relevant talent and modeling agency under the terms of a talent release.

If you are a participant in our TikTok Shop or other affiliate program, we may share information with TikTok and applicable payment service providers as described in our TikTok Shop Terms and Conditions.

We may disclose information to government agencies and law enforcement when required by law, regulation, legal process, subpoena, court order, or government request.

In the event of a business transfer — including a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or similar transaction — personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to confidentiality protections.

Finally, we may share information for any other purpose with your consent.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
