USDA Certified Organic, grown in Montana. Arnica is one of the most established botanicals in this category — it appears in professional sports medicine for pre- and post-surgical care and for ordinary daily-grind soreness. It is the reason this formula exists.
Glucosamine & Chondroitin — shellfish free
Both are structural compounds found in cartilage, and both are almost always derived from shellfish. Ours are not. If you have ever had to put a joint product back on the shelf because of a shellfish allergy, this is the detail that matters.
Fresh Goat Milk (not reconstituted)
Fresh goat milk carries 0.5–1% naturally occurring lactic acid — enough to exfoliate gently, not enough to sting. Its fat globules average about 3.5 micrometers against cow milk's 4.5, so it spreads thin and absorbs rather than sitting on the surface. It also arrives with its enzymes, proteins, and vitamin A intact.
Powdered milk is spray-dried at temperatures ranging from 150°F to over 400°F. That is the step we skip, and it is the whole reason we keep a herd.
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)
Organic sulfur. It goes in every single Artisan formula. Sulfur supports collagen production and helps calm reactive skin, and for a family of athletes it became non-negotiable years ago.
Organic Ginger, Turmeric & German Chamomile
The warm botanical layer underneath the arnica. Chamomile is the calming note, ginger and turmeric the warming ones. Organic borage oil carries them, bringing gamma-linolenic acid to the base.

Spot test first. Then apply to the area you want to work on, and give it a minute.
Massage in until absorbed. This one warms slowly rather than hitting immediately — most people notice it settling in over the first few minutes.
Best in the evening, and it layers fine under compression or over clean skin after a shower. Reapply as needed.
Discontinue use if irritation develops.

Why this one exists
Our family includes NCAA Division I track and field athletes — high jump, pole vault, hurdles, multi-events. Lisa spent thirty years formulating in the kitchen for a household that trained hard and recovered slowly, long before any of it was for sale.
Active Cream came out of that. The shellfish-free sourcing came out of it too, because an allergy in the family made the standard version unusable.
We raise our own herd in rural Southwest Washington and manufacture on-site in our own cleanroom. The milk goes from our goats into our formulations within days. That is not a marketing preference — it is the only way to keep the enzymes, proteins, and bioactive compounds that degrade the moment milk is heated and dried.
Our goats have names, not numbers. They have room to roam, quality feed, and daily attention from people who know each one's personality. We got into this because goats helped our family through the hardest season of our lives. Treating them well is not a policy. It is gratitude.
