Fresh Goat Milk (not reconstituted)
Fresh goat milk carries 0.5–1% naturally occurring lactic acid — enough to exfoliate gently, not enough to sting. Its fat globules average about 3.5 micrometers against cow milk's 4.5, so it spreads thin and absorbs rather than sitting on the surface. It also arrives with its enzymes, proteins, and vitamin A intact.
Powdered milk is spray-dried at temperatures ranging from 150°F to over 400°F. That is the step we skip, and it is the whole reason we keep a herd.
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)
Organic sulfur. It goes in every single Artisan formula. Sulfur supports collagen production and helps calm reactive skin, and for a family of athletes it became non-negotiable years ago.
Organic Apricot Kernel & Avocado
The two oils this formula was built around. Apricot kernel is light enough to sink in fast; avocado is heavy, high in oleic acid, and does the deep conditioning. Together they cover both ends of what cracked hands need.
Organic Coconut & Shea Butter
Coconut oil for the rich feel, shea butter for the occlusive layer on top. Washing strips water out of the skin; shea is what keeps the next round of water in.
Sodium Hyaluronate
The smaller-molecule form of hyaluronic acid — it penetrates rather than sitting on top holding water at the surface.

Apply after every wash, and again before bed — that is the one that matters most.
A pea-sized amount covers both hands. Work it into cuticles and knuckles first, then the backs of the hands, then palms.
For hands that are already cracked, apply thickly at night and wear cotton gloves. Most people see the splits close within a few days.
Keep one at the kitchen sink and one in the bag. This is our heaviest formula and it goes fast.

The one that started it
Hand Cream was the first thing we ever made, and Lisa made it for herself. She grew up in a cold climate where her skin would crack and bleed, and every lotion she tried made her sick to her stomach from the fragrance. Before the internet she had no way to look up which ingredient was doing it, so she went without for thirty years.
When the goats arrived, she finally had the ingredient she wanted. Apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, fresh goat milk, and nothing she could not name. It was never meant to become a company.
We raise our own herd in rural Southwest Washington and manufacture on-site in our own cleanroom. The milk goes from our goats into our formulations within days. That is not a marketing preference — it is the only way to keep the enzymes, proteins, and bioactive compounds that degrade the moment milk is heated and dried.
Our goats have names, not numbers. They have room to roam, quality feed, and daily attention from people who know each one's personality. We got into this because goats helped our family through the hardest season of our lives. Treating them well is not a policy. It is gratitude.
